Folder Focus: INSTITUTE FOR EXCELLENCE IN WRITING

Among the thousands of presentation folders projects that we complete, every now and then, something catches our attention. Some for reasons so glaring and obvious; others subtle, even trivial. Folders that deserve to be shared in our blog.
One such recent project stood out because of its ultimate usage. Most of the folder orders we fulfill are meant to be used as either marketing and sales material or for administrative purposes. But the folders of Institute for Excellence in Writing (IEW) are meant for public consumption.
IEW is a company in Locust Grove, Oklahoma that produces educational programs and material that, according to their Operations Manager, Peter Buscemi, “Inspires students of all aptitudes and abilities to write, and molds them into competent and confident communicators and thinkers. We offer language arts curriculum for grades K-12.”
He continued, “These folders are part of the language arts curriculum products we sell … are a perfect companion to our writing and grammar courses and are popular with our customers.”. Then further elaborates, “we sell these folders as a product to students and teachers.”
We also learned from Mr. Buscemi that students affix stickers on them, as well as insert assignments in the folder pockets.
That the folders are sold to students and teachers is one of two details that made us notice. To us at Folderprinters, this means that the product we put out is of commercial grade. As such, it should be sturdy and relatively durable enough to withstand the handling (or manhandling) of students.
The other distinguishing detail is the folder’s size: While most folders are 9 x 12 inches with two panels, IEW’s has three panels with one pocket.
We were curious as to why IEW chose to place their orders with Foldersprinters for the past few years. After asking Mr. Buscemi, he shared that it is mainly because of Foldeprinters’ excellent pricing and turnaround time. Finally, likely unbeknown to Mr. Riley (and most customers), not every printing company can easily fulfill an order for larger presentation folders.
